I have been a Substance Use Disorder Counselor for almost 30 years, and a Clinical Supervisor for 16 years. I am licensed in the state of Wisconsin as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and Independent Clinical Supervisor. I have had the privilege to be a part of the miracle of recovery for hundreds of individuals. I have worked in Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties and am familiar with many resources in the metro and suburban area. Most of my experience is with adults but I do enjoy working with adolescents as well. I have worked in all treatment settings - intensive outpatient, aftercare, residential, inpatient, narcotic replacement therapy (methadone), and Employee Assistance Programs. My areas of greatest experience are working with women, dual diagnosis clients, impaired professionals, trauma survivors, affected family members of people with Addictive Disorders, corrections clients and Intoxicated Driver clients. I appreciate the importance of gender sensitive care. I also have experience with compulsive gambling : I developed an intensive outpatient program for gambling and spending addictions and affected persons for a major addiction center near Milwaukee. I have facilitated interventions and I am comfortable working with the 12 Step model of recovery as well as cognitive/behavioral and brief interventions. I use the Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change in all of my work.

I provide group, individual and family therapy for Substance Use Disorders as well as clinical supervision for students and colleagues. I also provide groups for domestic violence clients. Although I retain some traditional recovery beliefs, I have taken pride over the years in staying up to date on current evidence based practice and I believe that integration of services for mental health and substance use disorders is essential. All of my counseling is trauma informed and safety and confidentiality are my first goal for all clients.

I live in Milwaukee with my husband, John, and enjoy spending time with our daughter and our 2 very active grandchildren. We like to travel (preferably by rail) and enjoy returning home to our feline family member, Betty.
